Local boy wins martial arts tournament

Daniel Opferman, a sixth grader at Lindero Canyon Middle School, recently won the California State Pankration Championship in Santa Ana. Pankration is the amateur form of mixed martial arts or “ultimate fighting.” Daniel trains at Elite MMA in Westlake Village. He also promotes fight gear and clothing for TriumphUnited Clothing and MMA Gear.
