Holdren’s steakhouse

The latest of the steakhouses opened in our neighborhood is Holdren’s Steaks & Seafood. This reasonably priced restaurant with its club-like atmosphere, dark wood shutters, brick tile walls and warm lighting is perfect for a business lunch or a nice dinner. The main dining room is open to the bar and a bit noisy when busy. There is also a […]

Boy Scout Troop 2956 held a Court of Honor to confer three Eagle Scout ranks on Dec. 23 at the Latter-day Saints Church, 6100 Double Tree, Oak Park. Alex Thompson’s Eagle Scout project was to organize a spaghetti dinner to benefit Casa Pacifica, an agency that provides help for abused, neglected and severely emotionally disturbed children. Don’t go against the grain

Food for thought: Scientists say there are many clinically demonstrated and potential health benefits in what people eat. Not only are new food products being developed to help maintain health, more Americans are discovering the health benefits of many traditional foods. “Bread, for example, has long been known as the staff of life. CHS girls’ hoops team starts strong

The Calabasas High girls’ basketball team has posted a 9-6 overall record during the first month of the season. Calabasas’ nine victories equals the number of wins the team had all of last year, when they went 9-17 overall. CHS, however, did lose its first three league games.

Affordable housing can’t be ignored

I am completely embarrassed and appalled by the remarks made by Jim Lahana, the president of the Morrison Ranch HOA. Either Mr. Lahana was born into a very wealthy family, in which case he has no idea what it’s like to earn a living and hopefully some amount of respect for doing so, or he’s simply too full of himself […]
