Boys & Girls Clubs expands in Conejo Valley

Eighth-grader Johnny Hadzipetros carefully looked over his grand opening speech, handwritten in pencil on looseleaf paper. He had nothing to worry about. After all, Johnny was the first Boys & Girls Club member at Colina Middle School, having joined in early 2006. He knew what he was talking about. On Monday, Johnny joined distinguished members of the community in the […]

Westlake Council needs new blood

I am gratified to witness the growth, progress and beautification of the city of Thousand Oaks. Each project seems to be the fruition of serious thought and professional understanding of architectural design, color and landscaping, to enhance and accommodate existing structures and to visually unify the city. On the opposite side of the spectrum it saddens me to see the […]

The bell tolls at Calabasas

Football team wins for the first time since November 2002

Nobody was going to hand the Calabasas High football team its first win in years. They had to earn it on their own. Following 44 consecutive losses, the third-longest streak in state history and a mark that dates back to November of 2002, the Coyotes finally won a game last Thursday night, upending Channel Islands 28-14 on the road. “Our […]
