Young sleuths look for clues at CSI camp

. Deputies teach forensic techniques


Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station will run a Teen Crime Scene Investigation Team camp for 12- to 14-year-olds from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays from July 30 through Aug. 30 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center’s new location, 29900 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills.

Teen CSIs will learn about trace evidence, how to collect it, how to secure a crime scene, and conduct interviews. They will gain experience on dusting for fingerprints, casting for footprints, and conducting a lie detector test.

The participants will also have an opportunity to solve a crime and book a suspect into custody at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

The fee is $125, which includes an official CSI T-shirt.
