Students hoping to enroll into the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy can find out more about the application process at a series of upcoming workshops.
Hosted by U.S. Rep. Julia Brownley (D-Thousand Oaks), the informational meetings will be held Thurs., Sept. 6 at Thousand Oaks High School; Wed., Sept. 12 at Foothill Technology High School in Ventura; Thurs., Sept. 13 at Pacifica High School in Oxnard; and Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Adolfo Camarillo High School.
All of the sessions begin at 6 p.m.
Representatives from the academies will be on hand to provide presentations on their institutions and will be available afterward to answer questions.
Brownley’s staff will attend to provide information regarding the application process for attaining a congressional nomination from her office.
Applications for a congressional nomination are due no later than Oct. 10.
“I encourage all young people who are interested in serving their nation to come to one of the information nights and learn more about the opportunities the service academies can afford them,” Brownley said in a news release.
