The 2013-14 school year will be Jeffrey Woodcock’s last year as headmaster at Oaks Christian.

The faith-based private school in Westlake Village announced Woodcock’s retirement this week.

When David Price and Dallas Price-Van Breda founded Oaks Christian School 15 years ago, Woodcock was the first top administrator to be hired.

When it opened in 2000, Oaks Christian School had 198 students on one campus. Under Woodcock, the school has grown to more than 1,400 students on two campuses, a middle school and a high school.

Woodcock’s career in education covers 42 years.

“Mr. Woodcock leaves an enduring legacy, which will for generations serve as a lasting tribute to his invaluable role in service to the students, alumni, and families of Oaks Christian School,” the school said in a statement.

The school said its board of directors has begun a nationwide search for Woodcock’s replacement.

“It is anticipated that a new headmaster selection will be made by January 2014 to allow for a smooth transition in June,” Price said. “We are confident that God will bless this process and the school will continue to prosper under new leadership.”
