A woman accused with the murder of her husband was arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.
Patricia Farran, 76, was being held on $3-million bail after allegedly shooting her husband, 75-year-old Arnold Farran at their home in the 500 block of South Westlake Boulevard, about two miles south of Lake Sherwood.
The shooting occurred the night of Aug. 1.
Deputies from the Malibu/ Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station were called to the home at 10:30 p.m. last Wednesday.
Lieutenant Derrick Alfred of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau said the couple’s sons called 911 after their mother informed them what had happened.
“Initially she called her sons who were in the area to report what had occurred to them, and they in turn called 911,” Alfred said.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was declared dead at the scene. Investigators recovered what is believed to be the murder weapon from the home.
