Winging it for improv auditions

If you can think fast on your feet—and act and sing, too— there might be a spot for you in the Conejo Improv Players.

The troupe, under the direction of Jeremy Zeller, will hold auditions at 10 a.m. Sat., Jan. 13 at Conejo Players Theatre, 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Beginning and advanced improv performers are needed for shows that will take place at 7 and 9 p.m. May 5, Aug. 25 and Nov. 3. The shows feature skits and songs made up on the spot from audience suggestions.

All players will perform in all shows, so no show conflicts will be accepted. There is no pay.

Rehearsals, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays in Thousand Oaks or Moorpark, will take place two or three times per month. Additional rehearsals may be added.

Those trying out should wear comfortable attire for active movement. Performers should be at least 16 years old. Anyone younger than 18 will need parental consent to participate.

Everyone who auditions should bring a resume detailing their onstage experience. No appointment is needed.
