Wine tasting to support scholarships

The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee will host its third annual wine tasting event from 6 to 8 p.m. Sat., April 29 at a private Lynn Ranch estate in Thousand Oaks.

The event will help the Education Committee raise funds to award six $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Regional Occupational Program of the Las Virgenes and Conejo Valley Unified school districts.

Chaired by Mark Butzko of Thousand Oaks High School, the event will feature wines paired with the foods they complement that have been donated by restaurants and caterers including Pierre, Cisco’s, Los Robles Greens and Caf, Sayrelyn’s Culinary Classics and others.

After the tasting will be a silent auction of 20 wine-related items as well as wines for sale, a part of which will be a donation.

Reservations are required. The cost is $60 per person, which includes a $25 donation to the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Community Foundation.

Advance reservations received are entered into a drawing for a bottle of wine valued up to $100.

For reservations and information, call the Chamber at (805) 370-0035.
