Wild egret’s visit enlivens misplaced tree

CRITTER TAIL /// A feathered friend

The great egret deserves a great tree such as a deodar cedar to roost in. One would not really expect to find this matchup of avian and arboreal grandeur on a claustrophobic cul-de-sac in a rural Agoura trailer park.
Many of the community’s hefty trees were here before the erstwhile hot springs resort was razed and reinvented. These include pine, oak, sycamore and deodar cedar.
People who live beneath these now immense trees are sort of stuck with a good news/bad news situation.
