Big salaries for small communities

The Westlake Village City Council approved a cost-of-living salary increase for City Manager Ray Taylor, who currently earns $234,930 a year.
In addition to a 2.76 percent salary increase, giving the city manager an additional $6,484 a year, the number of unused hours in sick time, vacation and administrative leave that Taylor can cash out each year increased from 25 to 60 hours.
