The Westlake Village City Council denied a homeowner’s request to chop down three pine trees at the end of Hedgewall Drive.
The resident was appealing an earlier decision by city staff to keep the trees. He told the city that the trees on public property between his home and open space pose a fire danger to his home.
A city report stated that the fire department doesn’t consider the trees a hazard because they are more than 10 feet away from the building.
