Before the pandemic, America was gripped by the intensity of its opiate epidemic, the effects of which are still being felt.

Matthew Pall, a paramedic and resident of Westlake Village, knows the pain of addiction. His girlfriend died of an accidental overdose in 2019, and a year later the same fate befell one of his good friends.
