Ways to celebrate Halloween safely this year


 

The city of Agoura Hills will offer several safe and healthy Halloween events this year.

To enter the All Ages Costume Contest, submit a photo by Sat,. Oct. 31 to AgouraHillsRec@AgouraHillsCity.org.

Winners will be announced Mon., Nov. 2. The prize is a $25 gift card.

Residents can enter the Pumpkin Decoration Contest by bringing their decorated pumpkin between Oct. 26 and 29 to the Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center, 29900 Ladyface Court.

Pumpkins will be on display for voting on Fri., Oct. 30.

The prize is a $50 gift card.

For the House Decorating Contest, homeowners can submit photos of their decoated home by Oct. 25 to AgouraHillsRec@AgouraHillsCity.org.

Winners will be featured on a map for public drive by Oct. 30 and 31. Prizes are $25 to $50 gift cards to local businesses.

The Teen Game Night and Costume Contest for ages 11 to 17 will be at 6 p.m. Fri., Oct. 30 on Zoom.

Halloween-themed Skribbl.io will be played.

The costume contest prize is a $25 gift card.

Due to the pandemic, Los Angeles County has banned public gatherings and discourages residents from taking part in trick-or-treating and other traditional Halloween activities. Haunted Hampstead is canceled.

Those who engage in trick-or-treating or activities with others outside their household should practice social distancing. Masks should be worn; gloves are recommended.
