ROAD WARRIOR—A hiker takes a test run on the new 1.4-mile loop trail that starts and ends at Westlake Village Community Park. Flags mark the recently cut path, which is being built by the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency. Conditions are currently dry, but views of the mountains and Conejo Valley are stunning and the potential for the trail is limitless. The agency’s Fall Trail Work Day on Sat., Oct. 20 invites volunteers to help finish the trail. Volunteers are asked to assemble at the hilltop park, adjacent to the new YMCA, at 7:30 a.m. Lunch will be served.
