Village Voices to host auditions for new singers

Call for location

The Village Voices Chorale invites men and women who enjoy singing and are enthusiastic about performing to attend open auditions beginning Mon., Jan. 13.

The chorale is a 60-voice group from throughout Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley known for its "lively and eclectic" blend of classical, popular and Broadway music.

Directed by Gloria Hilliard and accompanied by Christine DeKlotz, the Village Voices begin rehearsals this month for its spring concerts in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza at the end of May.

To audition, choral singing experience and good sight/reading skills are a plus.

Singers interested in auditioning can call (805) 495-2701 for more information and audition times and location.

A nonprofit cultural organization, Village Voices also makes financial contributions to support vocal music programs in the public schools and provides scholarships for students studying voice.
