Veteran benefits are available

Veterans Alliance Benefits, a nonprofit in Van Nuys, works to help war veterans and their spouses obtain little-known benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. These pensions are known as the Aid and Attendance benefits and the Housebound allowance.

Greg Bryant, the nonprofit’s outreach director in Southern California, said qualifying veterans can receive over $2,000 per month tax-free.
