Ventura County Arts Council honors students





The Ventura County Arts Council recently hosted a recognition ceremony for the arts scholars from Ventura County. Each student has been accepted to attend the 2008 California State Summer School for the Arts/Innerspark session at Cal Arts in Valencia. They are:

Camarillo: Autumn Brown, creative writing; Alana Grossman, theater and vocal music; Jacqueline Kaden, visual arts; Jessica Karch, creative writing; Christina Tellez, visual arts.

Moorpark: Amanda Schaible, theater; Katie Woener, theater, film and video.

Oak Park: Patrick Borghei, visual arts.

Thousand Oaks: Brittany Caine, theater.

Simi Valley: Elizabeth Beasley, visual arts; Kelce Casey, creative writing; Alexandra Fragoso, vocal music; Brandon Manwell, visual arts.

Somis: Sarah Johnson, visual arts.

CSSSA/Innerspark was created by the California Legislature to provide a training environment for the state’s young artists. The school has conducted summer sessions every year since 1987.
