Vandals admit

Two 17-year-old boys accused of vandalizing Calabasas High School with anti-Semitic graffiti in April admitted the charges in a Sylmar Court, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said in a recent press release.

The teens, who were 16 at the time of the incident and whose names are being withheld because of their ages, pleaded guilty to charges of felony vandalism with a hate crime allegation, said Dep. District Attorney Kristiana Dietzel with the Sylmar court.

Juvenile Court Referee Mark Frazin ordered the teens to attend counseling, complete 100 hours of community service, pay $6,000 in restitution, and attend a program at the Museum of Tolerance. They will be on probation for one year.

A third 17-year-old allegedly involved in the CHS vandalism is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 7 for trial setting.
