Update on Old Agoura homes

Between the City of Agoura Hills and Jess Thomas acting on behalf of the Old Agoura Homeowners Association, there will be an 18-unit townhome complex at the corner of Chesebro Road, Palo Comado, Canwood and Driver Avenue.

Virtually no one was notified of the zoning change. For the longest time there was no sign posted on the property and there should have been. The only reason anyone knew anything about the proposed development was because story poles were required to be erected.

In Old Agoura there are 450 families of which 150 belong to the Old Agoura Homeowners Association. A decision by the City Planning Department and 150 families is not representative of how the community regards this development.

There is already a traffic problem at the above mentioned intersection at certain times of the day. The proposed traffic signal at this intersection will only make it worse. When there are heavy rains this intersection is swamped with water.

It is an invasion of and destruction of our way of life. What are you going to take away next, the Equestrian Park because of the dust and flies? We don’t want all those big city things. Old Agoura doesn’t have street lights, curbs or sidewalks. We moved here to get away from that.
