U.S. Marine shares Jewish perspective on overseas wars





As part of its ongoing Shabbat Speaker Series, Temple Beth Haverim in Agoura Hills presents: Afghanistan and Iraq Wars: A Jewish U.S. Marine’s Perspective” at 8 p.m. Fri., Nov. 10.

Kayitz Finley served as a U.S. Marine in Afghanistan and Iraq for more than four years and lives in the community.

Kayitz was given the opportunity to leave the Marine Corps after he returned home from his second tour of duty, but he extended his contract so that he could serve one last tour, knowing it was going to be in Iraq.

Kayitz, a sergeant, was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2005. He received several awards such as the Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Action Ribbon.

This event is open to the community. Admission is free.
