Two informative lectures planned for senior citizens

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will present two seminars this month of interest to senior adults in the community at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

"Seniors Against Investment Fraud," from 1 to 4 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 24, teaches participants how to avoid becoming a victim of scam artists. Seniors are often targeted in telemarketing and investment fraud schemes. The seminar will provide an alert on "how to spot, stop and avoid" fraud crimes that have sometimes resulted in victims losing their life savings.

"Conflict Management and Resolution Seminar," at 1 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 31 "can be useful for all seniors in handling difficult situations or in conflict with families or friends. It is ideal for volunteers working with the public and nonprofit agencies dealing with change."

This seminar will be conducted by Jeanne E. Cunningham, MSW, LCSW, who is a retired Glendale College psychology professor.
