Trespassers may have been seeking chemicals

Security guards detained three juveniles trespassing on the campus of Agoura High School the early morning hours of last Fri., June 16, and deputies were summoned from Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

The three suspects, all Agoura Hills residents and students at Agoura High School (two males, 15, and one female, 14) were in possession of knapsacks containing burglary tools and excerpts from "The Anarchist’s Handbook."

Instructions from the handbook said that materials for constructing bombs could be obtained from high school science and chemistry labs.

Deputies arrested the three juveniles for conspiracy and burglary.

Due to the circumstances and evidence, simultaneous search warrants were served at each of the suspect’s homes.

Evidence of another burglary was found but no explosives were discovered.

A task force of surveillance teams, search and computer teams, canine units, arrest teams and supervisors and deputies, and a helicopter were used to coordinate and conduct the search warrants.

The juveniles were booked at Lost Hills Station and were to appear yesterday in Sylmar juvenile court.
