Traffic fatality makes him

wonder: Are trees too important?

As a fellow Oak Park resident, it both saddens and angers me that the death of young Anton Nikolic might have been avoided if trees, in this case an oak tree, did not reign preeminent over humans on earth.

We’ve driven up to 18-wheelers on Potrero Road in Hidden Valley on a near daily basis over the last 17 years. On Potrero Road, there are two sections where large oak trees are leaning into and jutting out of the edges of the road. In order to miss an oncoming vehicle and the tree at these two bottlenecks, at times one must rely on a miracle.

Please, either take the behemoth impediments off the road or prepare for more unnecessary injuries or worse, like 18-year-old Anton.
