Topic: Non-toxic approaches
to killing insects, weeds

James Nichols of Thousand Oaks will lead a discussion on "The Secret Non-Toxic Formula to Growing Plants" from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., Feb. 25 at Soka University, 26800 W. Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas.

For more than 20 years Nichols has studied creating a successful environmentally friendly agricultural industry without chemicals. He has written articles on the subject and lobbied and developed a patent for the "method and apparatus for the non-toxic control of insects and weeds."

It was during a white fly invasion that Nichols became convinced of how simple mechanical, non-chemical alternatives could offer safe-and-sane weed and pest control.

Other environmental advocates with non-chemical solutions to gardening are invited to participate in the event. Admission is free. For more information, please call (818) 878-3741.
