1. Westlake (3-0)

The Warriors subdued defending state champ Sierra Canyon at home before outlasting Newbury Park in hostile territory last weekend. They’ve earned this No. 1 ranking.

2. Calabasas (2-0)

The truth: Calabasas, coming off a bye, hasn’t been tested yet. Facing Pacifica (0-3) on Friday won’t help strength of schedule. First tough foe? Valencia at CHS on Sept. 28.

3. Oaks Christian (2-1)

Lions took down Paraclete, which won a CIF State Division 3-AA title in 2016, last weekend. Kayvon Thibodeaux is a beast.

4. Rio Mesa (3-0)

Spartans continue to build momentum with 48-24 win at Ventura; Grace Brethren is next.

5. Newbury Park (2-1)

How will Panthers respond after sputtering in second half of home loss to Westlake? We still like the Cats, but they need healthy WR Ian Albaeck to diversify offense.

6. Moorpark (3-0)

7. Camarillo (2-1)

8. Grace Brethren (2-1)

9. Agoura (2-1)

A sigh of relief: Bolts scored a last-second TD to survive 38-37 against El Camino Real. Agoura led 24-6 at one point. An Oct. 20 game at Royal looms even larger.

10. Thousand Oaks (1-2)

Lancers return to the Power Poll after rocking Highland. DE Jack Bowen had eight tackles (three for loss of yards) and two sacks in win.
