The $50,000 holiday party

Almost $50,000 for a Calabasas holiday party is ludicrous and insulting to taxpayers.

City Manager Lysik is spending my money and yours to have a ridiculously lavish party. He even invited outside agencies to the party to, again, have a great night on my dime.

Lysik does not even have good excuses for his overspending. He paid his sister-in-law $300 to be a door greeter. His reasoning: “It was a last minute thing. She came from Beaumont or wherever they live. It was a favor to me more than anything else.”

He has multiple excuses and justifications for the entertainers, musicians, comedians and partying at our expense.

Good for Councilmembers Maurer, Bozajian and Weintraub for questioning the need to have such an expensive party. But couldn’t these council members have prevented this outrageous spending?

The City of Agoura spent about $2,000 on their party.

My employer had a daytime lunch at work for our holiday party. The best thanks I get for doing a great job at work is my paycheck and that is all I should expect.

The city employees of Calabasas get paid to do their work and that is all that should be expected. A lavish party is just ridiculous and should be disallowed in the future.
