Temple to open gifted learner classes




Revo Academy, a gifted learner school for kindergarters through eighth-graders, will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sun., June 14 at Temple Etz Chaim, 1080 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The academy will open Tues., Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, following the Conejo Valley Unified School District academic calendar.

Revo was founded by educa- tors with an expertise in gifted education. Subject areas are taught using in-depth inquiry and projectbased lessons to provide for appropriate academic challenge and a sense of accomplishment.

The Revo program provides enrichment classes in art, foreign language, academic chess, Odyssey of the Mind, service learning, physical education and field trips.

Academy teachers are fully credentialed with master’s degrees and training and expertise in gifted education. Class size is a ratio of 15:2, with one credentialed teacher and one teacher’s assistant in each classroom.

No affiliation with Temple Etz Chaim is needed to become a student.
