Tells us your favorite Mom Moment

Of the many family traditions observed by The Acorn— we give special recognition to graduation day, Valentine’s Day and Father’s Day, to name a few—the one that really pulls at our heartstrings is Mother’s Day.

Each Thursday before Mother’s Day our newspaper gives readers a chance to say aloud what Mom really means to them, how much they love her and why she’s so special. It’s important that Mom receives the recognition she deserves, and it’s important to us to publish these loving words from you in our newspaper.

This year the tradition continues as we invite you to write in with what we call your favorite Mom Moment—an event, an act of kindness or a quality about your mother that makes her unique—that will appear in the Thurs., May 9 issue and online.

Last year’s contributions were priceless.

From the funny: Mom’s job description: patient, thoughtful, beautiful, amazing, goofy, chaotically organized, multitasker, bus driver, party chef, party planner, team mom, sock hunter, peacemaker, people hugger, dog walker, light changer, everything coordinator and ice cream sundae maker . . .

To the sublime: Thank you, Mom, for giving me life, caring for me as I grew up and helping me become who I am.

And this year we expect more poignant Mom Moments, straight from the heart: Whenever I am down or hurt, you always pick me right back up. And for all the times I haven’t said it—thank you, I love you!

Your email or online submission must be received no later than noon on Fri., May 3. Email moms@theacorn.com or visit www.theacorn.com (click on the Mother’s Day button at the upper right) and simply give us your name, hometown and your 100-word Mom Moment.

All submissions are free. After all, who can put a price on what Mother means to us.

Simply put: She’s the best.
