Teen suspected of dealing drugs

Police say they seized a large cache of drugs from a suspected teen dealer in Oak Park. The 17-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a minor, reportedly had in his possession 1 pound of marijuana, 124 THC vape cartridges, 54 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, 100 doses of LSD, oxycodone pills, promethazine with codeine and 54 capsules of “Molly,” or MDMA, police said.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the department began investigating the teen in October after deputies from the Thousand Oaks Patrol Station answered a call reporting a 17-year-old female Oak Park High School student who had ingested Xanax, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety, and Ecstasy, a synthetic drug.

On Oct. 30, deputies were called to a home in the 700 block of Lakeview Canyon Road, where they found another 17-year-old girl who had apparently overdosed on oxycodone, a pain-killer.

Police believe the 17-year-old boy from Oak Park provided both girls with the drugs.

A search warrant was issued, and on Nov. 5 deputies raided the teen’s home and vehicle in the 6800 block of Falconview Lane in Oak Park.

During the search, police arrested the teen and cited a 17-year-old male from Agoura Hills who they say was in possession of marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.

The Oak Park teen was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center in Oxnard; the Agoura teen was released to his father.
