Take Your Acorn on Vacation photo contest is just around the corner

Often we hear from our readers that one of things they enjoy most about The Acorn
is the paper’s long-running vacation photo page.

For years, we’ve invited readers to take a picture of themselves, friends and family members holding a copy of The
Acorn
at their vacation destination. We publish the photos throughout the year, and in September we choose a winner of the Take Your Acorn
on Vacation contest. Photos featuring creative composition, daring deeds and funny scenes are usually the ones that win.

The deadline for this year’s contest isn’t far away. We’re asking that all entries for the 2010 contest be submitted by 5 p.m., Sept. 8. This will give you plenty of time to submit those last-minute photographs from Labor Day.

It’s easy to do. The next time you go on vacation, bring along a front page of The Acorn.
Have someone hold the page so it’s visible in the photo along with the scenery of wherever you are.

Be sure to include information about who’s in the picture from left to right and where the shot was taken. Also include a name, address and phone number so we can call and tell you when we’re printing it.

Following a reader vote online at www.theacorn.com, we’ll announce the contest winners in the Sept. 23 issue of The
Acorn.

After the contest and throughout the coming months, all photos will appear in the paper and online unless technically unusable. Please be patient if your photo doesn’t appear right away.

Digital photographs should be sent as high-resolution .jpg attachments to vacation@theacorn.com. If you’re sending a 35mm print, send it to the address on page 4. Photos cannot be returned.

Don’t forget to Take Your Acorn
on Vacation. What happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay in Vegas.
