T.O. CAP celebrates its 25th

Civic Arts Center opened in Oct. 1994

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, the Thousand Oaks Alliance for the Arts will host a celebration called Curtain Up at 5 p.m. Fri., Oct. 4 at the Fred Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

In honor of the many faces of art, Curtain Up will feature specialty cocktails and a gastronomic retrospective of foods inspired by the 1970s through present day.

The evening will also include a private concert by the famed Herb Alpert along with Lani Hall, a live auction, and special presentation.

The night will close with an after party featuring dessert bar, dancing with the Don Randi Quartet, and a “surprise,” organizers say.

The community party will raise money for the alliance’s education programs.

The event’s name was inspired by a Los Angeles Times publication, “Curtain Up!” that celebrated the opening of the iconic Thousand Oaks building.
