Symbols of a lost cause

The “Stars and Bars,” the Confederate battle flag and statues of Confederate so-called “heroes” are all symbols of a lost cause. These symbols represent treason, inhumanity and dishonor.
Defenders of statues of Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson and their comrades cite the fact that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson also owned slaves. However, our Founding Fathers created our nation, while the leaders of the Confederacy tried to dismember it.
