Supports OPUSD gender program

As an Oak Park parent, I could not be prouder of the school district and their decision to include gender diversity education into the curriculum, and I thought they put on a spectacular parent information night last week.

It was well organized, I was very impressed with everyone who spoke, and I applaud the district for spending over an hour answering question after question, regardless how of redundant or pointed.

It’s apparent to me this initiative was very well thought out, and I appreciate the tremendous effort and integrity that went into designing the program.

I know I will be prioritizing my contributions to the district, and I encourage other parents as well.

I was a bit sad that the event required two security guards and a deputy present. However, it did make me feel safer as an attendee.

To the gentleman who sat behind me and felt the need to audibly clear his throat anytime someone said something he didn’t agree with, you need to listen, too, if we’re to have a dialogue. It takes two.
