Summer ends on a heartbreaker

The Conejo Recreation and Park District’s Summer Concerts in the Park Series will have its final presentation at 5 p.m. Sun., Sept. 3 in the natural amphitheater at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks.

Sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Acorn, the free, family-friendly concert will feature The PettyBreakers: A Tribute to Tom Petty with the sights, sounds and experience of real Petty concert.

The SoCal-based band, comprised of musicians who have performed and recorded with international artists, have a song list including “American Girl,” “Breakdown,” “Listen to Her Heart,” “Refugee,” “Here Comes My Girl,” “Runnin’ Down a Dream” and “Free Fallin’.”

Early arrival for prime lawn seating is encouraged. Attendees can bring lawn seating and picnics. Concertgoers are asked to leave pets at home.

The Conejo center staff will sell $1 hot dogs and snow cones.

Event parking is off-site only. On-site parking is reserved for cars displaying handicap placards until the lot is full.
