Student’s fundraiser helps other kids

Lindero Canyon Middle School seventh-grader Jenny Tannenbaum will present her fourth "Kids Walking for Kids" event to raise money for the Variety Club Children’s Charity from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun., May 25 at the Westlake High School football field, on the campus at 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village.


Jenny organized the first walk while in the fourth grade and has raised more than $21,000 for this charity.


This year’s event will feature a 2K walk and a festival with vendor booths offering items for purchase, a silent auction, raffle prizes, free food and music by Hart to Hart.


Those pre-registering online at www.goldhearts.org will be entered into a special drawing to win four tickets to "The Hulk" movie premiere. Raffle and auction items include autographed sports memorabilia, tickets to Disneyland, Lakers and Dodgers games, a digital camera, DVD player and much more.


Jenny is inviting elementary school children, middle and high school students and their families to participate and "make a difference by helping other kids." Proceeds from previous walks have helped seriously ill children have needed medical procedures performed.
