VISUAL MEANS—In a recent program called youTHink, students at Agoura High School used their artistic creativity to demonstrate how they feel about problems in society. Sophomore Jordan Rippe, left, came up with a diagram that explains his thoughts on the death penalty. Sophomore Lisa Novik, below, is curious about the meaning of advertising. The program also included a discussion by students on how they plan to address the nation’s social issues when they get older. YouTHink is sponsored by the Zimmer Children’s Museum of the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Los Angeles. State Assemblywoman Fran Pavley, an Agoura Hills resident, helped secure a $250,000 grant to run the program in schools throughout California.
