Storyteller coming to library

Storytelling will be featured during the Presidents’ Day Celebration event at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Mon., Feb. 16 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

Jim Woodard, a storyteller-writer from Ventura, will present the two programs.

Woodard, who’s been the resident storyteller at the library since 1995, describes the opening story as "a spooky and funny little tale strictly for kids." Then he’ll tell a tale about a wild owl and how it changed the life of a world-famous cartoonist. He’ll also share a story about how a surprising incident in the life of President Theodore Roosevelt benefited youngsters over the past 100 years.

In addition to Woodard’s presentations, there will be a continuing series of Presidents’ Day activities for all ages, scheduled from 9:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For information on the storytelling events, call Woodard at (805) 658-6697. For information about the day’s other activities, call the library at (800) 410-8354.
