Stop developing and save water

Save our sycamore trees, mountains and water.

I live in Calabasas, and the city is going to build two 200-room-plus hotels and 77 houses along Las Virgenes Road. This is a scenic corridor, home to birds and wildlife.

They are cutting down all the sycamore trees from Agoura Road to Lost Hills to expand the road. The loss of decades-old sycamore trees will have visual impact, eliminate animal habitat, reduce quality of life, create traffic noise and pollution, and affect our property values.

Where are they getting the water to supply this building? Why are age-old sycamore trees being mowed down? Why are the majestic mountains being mutilated?

The city has turned a deaf ear to our plea to conserve water. Our mayor, Fred Gaines, represents the builders.

We need your help to save our trees and protect our water resources. Please help us preserve the beauty of our community.
