State Sen. Henry Stern (D-Calabasas) will be sworn in to office at a community event from noon to 2 p.m. Sun., Jan. 29 at Agoura High School’s performing arts education center.

Stern will provide information on some of the issues he plans to tackle.

According to Jeremy Wolf, Stern’s Conejo Valley field deputy, the senator will also answer questions from guests on issues that concern them most.

The 34-year-old Harvard graduate served as senior policy adviser for two-term state Sen. Fran Pavley before he was elected in November.

Like Pavley, Stern has pledged to focus on the economy, environment and education. He is particularly interested in climate change, air quality and water policy.

Light refreshments will be served and live music is planned. The event is free.

Event capacity is limited. Visit http://bit.ly/2ivbHB0 by Fri., Jan. 27 to register.

Agoura High School is at 28545 W. Driver Ave.
