Sports, entertainment promoter dies at 87

Sports and entertainment promoter Sheldon “Shelly” Saltman of Westlake Village died Feb. 16 at the age of 87.

Born Aug. 17, 1931, in Boston, Saltman is known for promoting the Muhammad Ali/Joe Frazier boxing matches and the battle of the sexes tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.
