Special needs class moves to Newbury Park

The Conejo Valley Friendship Circle’s fitness class for special needs children has moved to Monarchs Gym, 3599 Old Conejo Road in Newbury Park.

The next class will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sun., Feb. 25. The program, designed by BMod Fitness, was held previously at Monarch Gym’s Agoura facility.

About 10 to 15 children participate each month. The classes are designed to give special needs children the opportunity to become more fit, have better control of their bodies and learn to interact with other children. Jerry Bennett, president of BMod Fitness, donates his time and the time of his instructors for the children.

Founded in 2003, the Conejo Valley Friendship Circle matches volunteer teens with children with Down syndrome, autism, ADD and other emotional or physical challenges. Space is limited. To register, call Chaya Hoch at (818) 865-2233.
