Everyone in Calabasas should be greatly concerned about the proposed West Village project coming to a vote on May 12 because it has the potential to gut Measure O, the open space protection ordinance that 97% of the city approved in 2016.
The West Village project proposes bulldozing 2.6-million cubic yards of open space to facilitate massive private development on another parcel. By comparison, the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena would hold about 835,000 cubic yards of dirt.
