SOAR campaigners gain signatures for ballot




GRASSROOTS EFFORT—Supporters of Ventura County’s Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources (SOAR) law submitted 35,354 signatures—about 15,000 more than they needed—to the Ventura County Elections Division March 29. The county has 30 days to validate the signatures and qualify the new SOAR initiative for the November ballot. The measure extends the current open space laws through 2050.
