Skateboarders to compete at X Games

Event is Friday night at Home Depot Center in Carson

A group of local skateboarders will attempt to go big in front of a raucous Home Depot Center crowd at the X Games Friday night.
Of the 10 Southern California high school skaters who will be competing in an invitational best trick competition beginning at 8 p.m., seven participated in this year's inaugural California High School Skateboard Club, founded by Thousand Oaks resident Jeff Stern.
