Collection event helps kids and adults

CARING CALABASAS—Members of the Calabasas Senior Center’s Caring Calabasas Club recently host their annual shoe collection event. This year’s participants included, from left: Maxine Straus, Carol Davis, Sarah Sobel, Jackie Hoffman, Rick Young, Carol Washburn, Dotty Corcoran and Karen Sobel, mother of Lindsey Sobel, founder of the Shoes for Souls nonprofit. The charity, started in 2016, partnered with the seniors along with Calabasas High School students to collect new and gently-worn shoes of all sizes for needy children and adults in the community.
