Sheriff’s deputies not bad after all

I’ve read about our sheriff’s officers in The Acorn
for the past two weeks. I would like to share my experience about our sheriff’s officers in Agoura Hills:

When I pulled my car into my garage I noticed a man standing on my driveway. I got out of the car and asked the man what he needs? He asked me in English whether I know how to speak Portuguese. I told him I do not know that language and asked him to call our sheriff’s office. He kept asking me to come out of my garage, and I got suspicious and told him go back to the 7-Eleven store or home, otherwise someone will call the police. I closed the garage and informed our sheriff’s office about that person.

Within five or 10 minutes one of our sheriff’s officers was in front of my door, took the report and started searching for that person.

I was amazed by the speed and efficiency of our sheriff’s department and the response time. This is what I call service to the community by our sheriff’s office.

Before I moved to Agoura Hills I lived in another city in Northern California. We had a robbery in our home during daylight while I was at work. The robbers took everything from our home. When we called the police at 3 p.m., we got their response after 6 p.m.! I understand their delay because that city has more serious crimes every day.

We are living in a community where it is peaceful and we can walk day and night safely thanks to our sheriff’s deputies who serve our community even during holidays while we are enjoying (time) with our families. We salute our sheriff’s officers and wish them happy holidays.
