Agoura Hills

The catalytic converter was stolen from a 2015 Toyota Prius on Ridgebrook Drive on March 12 or 13.

Shortly after midnight March 10, a resident of Saddlebrook Drive heard a sound like metal grinding on metal coming from the street in front of his house, where his Honda Element was parked. He went outside to investigate and saw a red SUV speeding out of view. The Honda’s catalytic converter was gone.

Calabasas

A truck parked in front of a residence on Towhee Drive had its eight affixed LED spotlights stolen in the early hours of March 12. Camera footage showed an SUV pulling up alongside the truck and a man emerging from the passenger door to remove the lights with a cutting tool. The lights were valued at $2,800.

Two women were seen on a March 11 surveillance video stealing merchandise from the Sephora beauty store at The Commons, 4799 Commons Way in Calabasas. The sheriff said the women placed cosmetic items in their purses and left the store without paying. Sephora reported the loss at $11,850. The same two women were said to have robbed the Sephora store in Northridge 30 minutes before the Calabasas theft.

On March 7, an ATT employee received a work order from a customer in the 23800 block of Ventura Boulevard whose communications services were down. The ATT rep checked the power lines in the area and found that a 40-to-50-foot section of cable had been cut and removed from between telephone poles behind the business. The value of the stolen cable was estimated to be between $4,000 and $5,000.

A vehicle parked in the 23600 block of Calabasas Road was broken into the night of March 6. Items stolen included debit cards, which were then used at a Shell gas station in Woodland Hills and a nearby Ralphs supermarket.

Oak Park

A man, 73, was arrested for battering a victim in the 100 block of Satinwood Avenue on March 15.

Multiple vehicles were targeted by thieves stealing mechanical parts between March 10 and 13.

Thieves cut three catalytic converters off of vehicles on March 13, one from the 600 block of Oak Run Trail, another other from the 600 block of Indian Oak Lane and a third from a car in the 200 block of Locust Avenue.

On March 13, more than $950 worth of auto parts were stolen from a vehicle in the 80 block of Kanan Road.

Auto parts were reported taken from a vehicle in the 500 block of Azul Circle on March 10.

Westlake Village

A wallet theft occurred March 15 at the Costco store. According to the sheriff, one person bumped into a victim to distract her while an accomplice stole the wallet out of her purse. The thieves used the woman’s stolen credit cards in an attempt to purchase $7,000 in gift cards, but the transactions were declined.

On March 11, the driver and passenger of a 2020 Acura TLX reported that an older man on a road bicycle shouted at them before using his metal water bottle to shatter the car’s windshield. The incident occurred when the Acura came to a stop at the intersection of Agoura and Lakeview Canyon roads.

A wallet was stolen in the dairy section of Costco on Lindero Canyon Road on March 10. The wallet was taken from a purse in a shopping cart. Two men followed the victim into the aisle, she said, and one bumped into her as she reached for an item. A few minutes later she noticed that her wallet, containing several credit cards and $300 in cash, was gone.

The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station reported that a grand theft occurred March 4 at the Target store on Russell Ranch Road. Two people entered the store and asked an employee for assistance with the Oculus Quest VR game systems, locked inside a cabinet. The thieves, a male and a female, grabbed one box each and told the employee they would pay for the items at the main checkout. The thieves then bypassed the registers without paying for the $1,000 in merchandise and left the store.
