A thief stole a woman’s wallet out of her purse while she shopped at the Trader Joe’s on Canwood Street on Aug. 29. The wallet contained her credit and debit cards, cash, a diamond earring and a gold coin. The stolen items were worth $7,480.
A person entered an unlocked vehicle parked on Dovetail Drive on Aug. 27 and stole a backpack that had been left inside. The bag contained a pair of soccer cleats and two soccer uniforms worth $240.
Someone broke into a car parked on Calabasas Road on Aug. 29 by smashing the front passenger window and causing $1,000 damage. The thief stole the owner’s purse, which contained credit and debit cards, driver’s license and checks.
Two cars on Park Corona were burglarized Aug. 29. The owner of the first vehicle was unsure if theirs was locked. There were no signs of forced entry. The thief stole a duffel bag, a hair dryer, a flat iron, hair dresser scissors, combs, and a curling iron worth $3,500. The second car was unlocked and the thief stole three pairs of prescription glasses, a set of hand tools, a backpack containing clothes and shoes and a folder full of insurance information. The stolen items were valued at $960.
On Aug. 29 a robber broke into La Paz Mexican Seafood on Las Virgenes Road. The culprit smashed a glass window and cracked three others, causing $7,200 damage. The thief broke several cabinet doors and kicked in a door, causing $2,000 damage, and stole $3,000 worth of liquor from the business.
Someone broke into the Trader Joe’s on Calabasas Road by smashing the sliding glass door and causing $1,000 damage. Nothing was reported missing. The crime occurred Aug. 29.
On Aug. 25 a person broke into a car parked on Bravo Lane by breaking the passenger window, causing $400 damage. The thief stole a $1,000 trombone left inside.
On Aug. 28 a thief stole a $400 pair of sunglasses from an unlocked car parked on Beach Meadow Lane.
A vandal pried open two doors at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Watergate Road on Aug. 18, causing $400 damage. Nothing of value was reported missing.
