On May 5 a thief stole a wallet out of a purse at Trader Joe’s on Canwood Street. The victim stated that three men approached her while she was shopping. Two of them stood by the cart containing her purse while the third asked her if she knew the price of a pie he was holding. When she stated she didn’t, they walked away. She realized her wallet had been taken and confronted the men, who said they didn’t know what she was talking about. The wallet contained cash, credit cards, a driver’s license, a medical card and a bank access card.

A person broke into a locked car parked on Roadside Drive on May 4. A laptop worth $1,800 was taken.

On May 3 someone stole an 8-inch iPad from an employee at the Los Angeles County Public Works office on Mulholland Highway. The victim said he left the iPad on his desk when he left for the evening, and when he returned in the morning it was missing.


An unlocked car parked outside the Rite-Aid in the Commons was broken into on May 5. The thief stole cash, a lottery ticket, a ring, a checkbook and the vehicle owner’s manual, worth $900.

On the night of May 3 a burglar entered the garage of a home on Black Bird Way. The resident said he forgot to close his garage door when he went inside around 9 p.m. When his wife went into the garage the next morning she saw that their vehicles had been ransacked and someone had taken a pair of Kate Spade prescription glasses and cash, worth $1,040.

Someone broke into an unlocked car parked on Blue Bird Drive the night of May 3. A briefcase containing a computer tablet and medication samples was taken. The stolen property was worth $2,400.
